Notes for John C. Sondles
Indiana Evening Gazette (Indiana, Pennsylvania) from April 13, 1911 entitled:
STOLE LIVERYMAN'S TEAM: Indiana Officers Notified to be on Lookout for Horse Thief.
"Officers in the county have been notified to be on the lookout for a man named Edwards who hired a team from Liveryman John C. Sondles, at Greensburg and forgot to return the same. The team was hired on April 6 and has not been seen since. The last seen of the team was in the northern part of this county."
"The missing Mr. Edwards is described as being about 55 years of age, with sandy hair and weighing about 165 pounds. A man seen with Edwards is described as heavy set with dark hair."
"The team is one of the best-known livery teams in Greensburg. They are sorrels and weigh between 2,400 and 2,500, have white faces and white feet all around.. They were hitched to a Youngstown piano box wagon with red running gears and the harness was nickel mounted."
